Who They Are
Dental Lace was founded by Jodi Breau. One day, she took a long look at her dental floss and realized how unsustainable it was. She shares, “For many years, I ranted about harmful plastic dental floss to my dentist, my hygienist, my friends, colleagues, and family.”
Jodi learned that if everyone in the United States flossed to ADA recommendations, the empty dispensers alone would fill a football field six stories high in just one year. And the dental floss would be enough to circle the Earth 1,246 times! Dissatisfied with the ugly packaging and excessive waste, she knew there had to be a better way.
When she retired from her career as a school librarian, Jodi wondered, “What am I going to do with myself?” Her husband suggested she pursue her idea for a sustainable dental floss — and Dental Lace came into the world.
What They Created
Dental Lace Refillable Floss is a sustainable dental floss solution. Unlike conventional floss, it’s made from eco-friendly materials and is 99% zero-waste. Dental Lace gives you a clean, healthy smile without plastic or chemical additives.
Dental Lace’s original floss is made from 100% Mulberry silk, one of the strongest fibers in the world. Coated in natural Candelila wax, their floss glides smoothly and removes debris from your teeth. Each roll replaces up to seven plastic floss packs. And instead of plastic, they package their floss in glass jars with stainless steel lids — both reusable and recyclable.
The jars’ nature-inspired designs make them a stylish addition to your bathroom. And when your floss runs out, you can simply open the jar and refill with a new roll!
In their mission to rid the world of harmful plastic oral care products, Dental Lace has also expanded to offer sustainable toothbrushes and toothpaste tablets.
